Michael Phelps has nothing on Katie Spotz

If you think Michael Phelps is the only swimmer doing unprecedented things these days, guess again. Katie Spotz is swimming the entire Allegheny River.

A feat which is believed to have never been accomplished before. She is only 21 years old, Phelps is 23. She started her swim on July 23rd in Raymond Pa, went up through New York State, and soon will be arriving in at the Point in Pittsburgh to complete the 325 mile long swim.



James Hendershott is following her down the river in a kayak, in which they're carrying food and water and other supplies. They told me they we're stopping at various locations in the town lining the river for food.

Katie is swimming to raise awareness for clean drinking water. As most people around the world do not have that luxury, and if raises anyone awareness about the heavy metals still the Allegheny....all the better. After she completes the swim Katie wants to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

So Mike Phelps ahhhh.....top that.
