WPIAL Football Rankings Week 8

One week away from the WPIAL Playoffs, then these rankings won’t mean a thing. However until then they are extremely important as the WPIAL selection committee will look at rankings to help determine the all-important playoff seeds. In AAA TJ won the big game 3-0 over Char Valley. AA will get ready for Beaver vs. Beaver Falls, and 3 undefeated teams are fighting for the #2, #3 seeds. In A, Western Beaver beat Rochester.

WPIAL Football Rankings Week 6 - 2007

As we get closer and closer to playoff time, these rankings become more and more important. It seems that the top five teams in each classification have established themselves. In AAAA get ready for 6-0 North Allegheny vs. 6-0 Shaler, in the game of the week. AAA is down to only 2 unbeaten teams, and they might stay that way until the finals. Knoch has really looked impressive lately too. In "AA" watch out Ford City, Steel Valley and Beaver, are making great cases for the #2 & #3 seeds, which will mean everything come playoff time. There are going to be some huge match-ups in the final weeks in "AA", get ready.

Week 4 was a classic week in WPIAL, upsets, great games, questions and answers. In Quad A, what a sensational win by North Allegheny, could they be a collision course with Central. Bethel Park looks better each week too, and Norwin gave Gateway a scare. In “AAA” Knoch beat #1 Pine-Richland, in a win that sent shock waves through the WPIAL. Charities Valley looked awesome in a big over Trinity. Montour after a huge win at New Castle has some impressive wins in their first 4 games. In “AA” Mars was shocked, paving the way for Ford City to get a top seed. Meaning Heinz Field WPIAL finals, FC vs. Jeannette in a battle of unbeatens, get your tickets now. The 40+ other teams in AA are playing for third now. Steel Valley does look good however as they are off to a great start. In “A” not much has changed as we prepare for some big match-ups in the coming weeks.

WPIAL Football Rankings - Week 3 - 2007

Week 3 was a big week for ranking contenders. In Quad A we have new #1 as Central look good beating Mt. Lebo. Also in Quad, North Allegheny is back on map with a 47-0 win against Woodland Hills. In “AAA” Pine-Richland fans might be able to reserve their seats at Heinz Field. Montour and Hopewell will look to stay undefeated till they meet. New Castle is also back in the rankings for the first time in along time. In “AA” nothing changes as there are 12 teams with a 3-0 record. Brentwood and Steel Valley look good in the south. Ford City might not give up a point for the rest of year, and probably has to be that dominate if they want the #2 seed in WPIAL playoffs. Also coming up Friday is a big showdown between Beaver Falls and Aliquippa. In “A” a top tier of teams is forming just under Clairton. Monaca also looks to be strong as well.

The game will air live Friday night September 14th at 8:00pm. The game will feature one of top QB recruits in western PA history, Terrelle Pryor and is intriguing because Pryor is still very open about choosing a college.
